Masquerade Decorations for a Ball or Party
When you’re preparing for a masquerade ball or party, you want to make sure everything is perfect. This not only includes the invitations, any food served, and your own masquerade mask, but also the masquerade decorations that will be used to set the mood of the room. There isn’t much difference between decorating between a regular ball and a masquerade party, but people get caught up in the idea that everything has to be exactly correct.
Especially if you’re hosting a formal event, there are certain aspects which are expected to contain decorative pieces, like table settings. How you should decorate a formal table setting depends directly on the formality of the ball and if there is a specific theme to go with the masquerade.
The two most important aspects are the tablecloth and the centerpiece of the table. Make sure that the table cloth is somewhat color neutral, yet elegant in appearance and you’ll have more options for the rest of your decorations. The centerpiece should draw on the color of the tablecloth and also incorporate any colors that are going to be in other decorations. Common colors for masquerades include red, silver, gold, and black. A mixture of two of these colors could also produce very nice results.
Decorations for the rest of the room that the masquerade event will take place in don’t have to be large or complicated. The beauty of a masquerade party is that everyone will be wearing fun, colorful masks and costumes. The guests naturally decorate the party by dressing up. It can be nice to hang some banners on the walls, streamers from the ceiling, and other festive decorations to make the masquerade even more exciting for your guests.
If you have access to a source of bulk masquerade masks, then one of the best ideas is to hang these on the walls. This will help the masks and colors of the guests appear more like party decorations and it is very simple to do. Just buy however many you are able and mount them in small groups of odd numbers; three, five or seven make the best groupings. If a guest forgets a mask, then you’ll also have a selection on hand to make sure that they can still enjoy the party.
